“A Glimpse of the Past” is inspired by Xitang Ancient Town, a historic water town about an hour by train from Shanghai. The painting centers on the main canal, framed by old buildings on both sides, capturing the timeless character of the town.
There is a sense of stepping into another time there—where the still water, aged architecture, and quiet rhythm of the canal preserve the feeling of the past.
